Corrective Haircolour
You are here:Lessons - Hair Colour - Corrective Haircolour
There are five reasons for correcting haircolour:
1. Off-tones Elimination 2. Removal of a Gold Band 3. Porosity Adjustment 4. Pre-pigmenting the Hair and Tint Backs 5. Tint Removal
1. Off-tones Elimination dry hair until damp.
Problem : Brassy casts or too much warmth due to fading from the sun.
Solution : Select a SoColor Ash Series that is one level lighter than the desired result. Mix with SoLite 5 or 10 Volume Developer.
Apply quickly and watch for proper neutralisation. (Pre-fill the hair if shafts and ends are over-lightened more than two levels.)
Problem : Greenish casts from chlorine or mineral build-up.
Solution : For Blonde - Levels 7-11: Select a SoColor G or CG Series colour. For Brown - Levels 4-6: Select a SoColor Red or CG Series colour. Mix with 5 or 10 Volume Developer.
Drab ends
If the off tones are intense, the colour must first be removed using ColorErase and 10 Volume SoLite Creme Developer. Then re-apply a colour to match the scalp and shafts. Remember to add warmth to your formula to compensate for the porosity of the hair. If you have removed colour more than two levels, fill the hair before re-applying the final formula.
